Volvo XC60 spy shots from Sweden: XC90 inspired

The next-gen XC60 is expected in 2017

After eight years (born 2008) the Volvo XC60 is ready to get completely new. We have now these pictures from Sweden to show you and despite heavy camouflage, we can clearly see that the D-segment SUV went to school from… XC90: headlights featuring Thor’s hammer, tall taillights and an overall boxier look, much like its big sister.

Inside new Volvo XC60 we should find the same elements of latest Volvo model (S90, V90 and XC90) so a big central tablet-style touchscreen, to setup the complete infotainment system. Also safety will increase with help of renewed systems as Pilot Assist and various active safety systems like blind spot monitoring, Lane Assist and adaptive cruise control. Something about semi-autopilot is rumoured too.

Based on a shortened version of the SPA platform, about powertrain systems, the new XC60 range should be composed by four-cylinder petrol and diesel units, with a probably plug-in hybrid version at the top of it.
