Our photographers caught the next generation Volkswagen CC while testing near the German Nürburgring. The car will get a new name when it comes to dealers in 2017, a first concept of the new model might be shown as early as this year’s Paris Motor Show.
Despite the roofline of the new CC being even flatter than that of today’s car, headroom for rear-bench passengers is said to grow making the car yet more comfortable. Length of the new CC will grow to 4.90 metres, the wheelbase will grow by five centimetres. Engine-wise the new CC will come with the familiar 4-cylinder units, new will be the GTE Plugin Hybrid with 218 hp. Front-wheel drive will be standard with the 4Motion AWD being optional.
Design-wise the new CC mimics that of the Sport Coupé Concept GTE with the wide grille of the current Passat, narrow side windows and a sloping roofline flowing into a tiny notchback. Prices for the new CC will be around 33.000 Euros.
